Focus on Life - Week 19: HOPE

Our prompt for week 19 of the

HOPE

This week my mind kept turning to today.

Today's an anniversary. Not the good kind.

Tears were there many times before I could stop them; so they just fell.

You're thought of every day sweetie,....by more people than you could probably ever imagine.

Wade - Thanksgiving 2009 - Hindman Cabin, Nutrioso, AZ.

Your selfless actions and those of your fellow Marines are appreciated beyond what many of us can express.

Today's a reminder that because of the actions of others I have HOPE in my life for a Peaceful tomorrow.

Until Next Time,
Peace, Love and HOPE

~Shel~

  2. Shel your post made me shiver. Thanx for sharing your sorrow with us. I can only hope the sentiment you expresses in your post is appreciated by others. A peaceful world is something we should all hope for so that no more lives are lost to war.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss. What an amazing young man. I feel so badly for the men and women who have lost their lives or become disabled due to war. And I also feel so deeply for the family and friends of those same men and women. It must be so hard to have a loved one serve in a war-torn area.

  4. Oh my. Heartbreak and pride in one emotion too big for words. And when I look at his face, it is so filled with hope. However you make it through is beyond me.

  5. So sorry... I think most wars are so pointless, I guess I will never understand why people can't get along.

    1. Thank you. I sometimes think wars are pointless, too and I so wish we could all just find a way to accept each other and stop hurting one another. That's the peace that I Hope for someday.

    1. Thank you very much Beti! It's never easy for any of our military when they loose their 'brothers' (or their 'sisters'). I think I saw in one of your posts not long ago where your son came home for a visit - that's an amazing feelin isn't it?! One of my nephews just returned from Afghanistan a couple of weeks back,...it was heaven for his wife and little kiddos! (and all of us, too!!)
