Here's the LUCKY One!

Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!!

A couple of days back I posted a pic of these gorgeous lampwork  head pins by Havana Beads that I'd won.

I created these fun earrings with a couple of them.

I wanted to share a couple with you and so I had a little drawing. Only a couple of people comment here below on the blog, but a few of you convo'd me on Etsy and FB'd me, so just I put the names together and had a little 'old fashioned' drawing - you know, with paper,...in a little cup!

And, Therese was the lucky recipient of two of these lovely Lampwork head pins from Havana Beads!!

Woo Hoo!

So, Happy Beading Therese and if you get the chance to show us what you create with them, that would be fabulous!!

Until Next Time,
Peace, Love and Sharing Cool Findings!!
Cheers,
~Shel~

Thanks so much to Diana for providing this opportunity and her lovely ceramic pendant and to Jan for her amazing lampwork bead.

I'm excited because these aren't colors that I normally work with so it's going to be fun to challenge myself and play with some fun colors!

The 1st Reveal Date for the Suburban Girl Studio Design Team is on Sunday, April 1st, 2012.

April Fool's!
No really,....seriously - come back here on the 1st and I'll have the design team links and you can see all the really cool stuff that every one's created with the items that Diana sent out!

So, while I'm vacationing on the beach, I'm going to be playing with these.

I mean really, who could ask for anything more?

Until Next Time,

Client Highlight

Everyone once in a while, I get the wonderful chance to show off some of the jewelry my clients create with my handcrafted earring wires and today's one of those days!

Pat's Peruvian Blue Opal Chrome Diopside Sterling Silver Earrings

Pat Barden's jewelry over on her Artfire shop has a contemporary flair.  Her jewelry is filled with colorful gemstones that sparkle with movement.

Pat's crazy lace blue quartz apatite sterling silver earrings

Pat been using several of the different style ear wires I offer over in my Shel's Jewelry Supplies Etsy Shop for quite a while now and I think her earrings make my earring wires look special!

Pat's citrine and hessonite briolette sterling silver earrings

I like Pat's jewelry because she takes the obvious and does the 'not so obvious' with her designs, creating jewelry that's hip, modern and fun, yet still classic enough to wear for years!

Pat's faceted square opalite sterling silver earrings lilac rain

Thanks Pat, for sprucing up my earring wires and for being such a valued client!

Hop on over to Pat's Artfire shop and have a look around - her gorgeous necklaces are something to behold as well!!

What Would You Create?

A while back I was the lucky winner of these wonderful Honeycomb Head Pins created by
Raida over at Havana Beads!
(I know, I was drooling when I saw them, too!!)

Honeycomb Head Pins by Havana Beads

You should see some of the new ones she has up in her
Etsy shop now,....oh how luscious they are!!

Wildflower Drops by Havana Beads on Etsy

Okay, back to these goodies!!

Honeycomb Headpins from Havana Beads

I created one pair of earrings for my "Spice it Up" Collection using these awesome Honeycomb Head Pins but that has been it so far.

These are "Spiced Cognac" and they're over on Flickr.

I've been looking at these and stewing over them and wondering what else I'd like to create with them.

I love earrings (as many of you know) and they're my favorite things to create, so I have a feeling that a couple of them may find their way into another pair!

Oh, but what to mix them with!?!

What would you create, given the chance?

Let me know by leaving a comment below here on the blog and I might possibly (hint - hint) share a couple of these with someone!  (Wouldn't that be fun!!)

I'm linking up with BTW today over on Flikr because these are indeed still on my bead table today.
Along with about 60 more pairs ear wires I still need to get hammered out by the end of the day!!

Take care and don't forget to leave a comment telling me what you'd like to create if these were on your
bead table today!!

Until Next Time,
Peace, Love and Sharing!
Cheers,

I Heart Macro - It's Sunday!!

Today's post is about Beautiful Memories.
It's about Before and After.
It's about Death and Rebirth.
It's about the Obvious and the Hidden.

As always, click to enlarge the photos

Wilted, "Rusted" and Wrinkled

My rose bushes got a bit of a 'hair-cut' last week.
There's currently no beautiful roses to look out the window and see, but I've got MEMORIES.  These memories evoke soft, peaceful, happy and beautiful feelings.

Fresh, Vibrant, Soft

Then there's "Rust" MEMORIES.   These memories evoke sadness, loss, fright, and perhaps a bit of longing, too. Longing for what once was,....

Burned, Rusted

Even when the obvious beauty has been removed, there's hidden beauty beneath what once was,...

Heavy, Strong

I'm linking up today with I Heart Macro over at
Studio Waterstone - won't you join me?

Until Next Time,
Peace, Love and Rusted, Rose Colored Memories
Cheers,
~Shel~

Useful, Salvaged

P.S. ~ You have to admit, the rust would make for a very cool color palette, don't you think? ~

Time to Laugh!!

I've had a few folks ask me to do a video tutorial so they can see how I create my "Signature Style" earring wires and I've been trying.

But, as I've confessed before, I am extremely "Techno-Challenged".

So, it's been a bit slow.

And, it's still not really 'there' yet.
But here's what I've got so far.

First, keep these things in mind:

1 - I haven't figured out how to truly use the video function of my camera and the new Sony video camera we returned yesterday wasn't any better at getting video close-ups than my camera is.
(neither is my flip camera)
2 - All of these little techno-gadgets probably work fine - it's the operator that's got a malfunction!
3 - I can't even figure out how to get my lap-top to video me, unless of course, I'm on Skype!
4 - There's probably software out there that takes your videos and does really cool things with them, but I'm sure all their cool features would be completely wasted on me.
and
5 - I wish I could get really cool close-up 'macro' jewelry making shots using the video mode of my camera like I do when it's in picture taking mode. But I can't.

Oh, and
6 - Keep in mind, this was only my second attempt. My first attempt was shorter and is still up over on You Tube (as is this one) but this one I was able to actually add some captions to.

I know - I'm such a dork - there's no other excuse!

Me - "Dorking-Out" for the Camera!

When I do this again, I'll take this one down (it's here on the blog over on the Tutorials and Fun Stuff page) and put a new one up - but in the meantime, if you have any suggestions or anything, I'm all ears (and questions, too, I'm sure!)

So, here's your laugh for the weekend!!

Enjoy!

Until Next Time,
Peace, Love and Techno-Dorkiness!!
Cheers,
~Shel~

Taking a Break

I've come to the conclusion that I need to take a break and sit and chill for a spell.

Be back soon.

Until Then,
